ICDO hosted a one-day summit on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 in New Orleans.

ICDO hosted a one-day summit on Wednesday, December 2, in New Orleans, ahead of the 51st American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting. Sponsored by Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical, Research & Development, LLC and OrthoBiotech, the summit was intended to foster awareness and understanding of Castleman's Disease (CD), a rare disorder characterized by non-cancerous growths that develop in the lymph node tissue at a single site or throughout the body. An international panel of medical experts discussed diagnosis and treatment options and several patients provided their perspective on living with the disease.

For those unable to attend, the summit will be videotaped with excerpts posted on the ICDO web site (www.castlemans.org) for the benefit of patients, caregivers and the medical community.
